I had Sophia from @onehungrymonkey a fun foodie, to come and teach me how to mix flavours and create a yummy meal that could also be healthy. This was delicious, and it was interesting to see what order she mixed things up in. I met Sophia years ago when I used to train at Goodlife. Her positive energy has always stayed true to her, she was always so sweet and kind.

Fast forward 5 years and we reconnected on instagram, and I started following her foodie page and my mouth would just water. I’m so proud of her she is a RPN part time, but finally started following her passion for food. I love seeing people passionate about what they do, it makes me so happy.

It’s interesting to see her process in how she cooked the stir fry, which I always thought I was good at but it’s the little changes that make a big difference. I normally marinate my chicken with sesame oil, garlic and green onions. Whereas Sophia marinated the chicken in soy sauce and sesame oil then fried the garlic, ginger and green onions so that those flavours soaked up in the oil.

Which also we didn’t use too much of, I noticed she used more soy than oil to avoid making it high in cals and fat.


  1. Ginger 5g diced
  2. Garlic 2 cloves diced
  3. Carrot 1
  4. Zucchini  1
  5. Broccoli 200g
  6. Green onion 2 diced
  7. Noodle 250g
  8. Chicken 250g
  9. Sesame oil 1tsp
  10. Olive oil 2tbsp
  11. Soy sauce 2 tbsp
  12. Oyster sauce 1 tbsp


  1. Fry ginger and garlic on medium high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add chicken and 1 tbsp of soy sauce, stir fry for 5 minutes on medium high.
  3. Add veggies, fry for another 5-8 minutes. 
  4. Add cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil. Add salt to taste.
  5. Garnish with green onion
